Profile of Dr. Saul Mofya

INTERIM DIRECTOR OF SGU SMALL ANIMAL CLINIC

Dr. Mofya, affectionately called Dr. Saul, graduated from the University of Zambia in 2001. Upon graduating, he was employed as a house surgeon at the same university and was subsequently promoted to the post of Assistant Director at the Small Animal Clinic, University of Zambia.

Dr. Saul’s tenure at SGU started in June 2003 as a Visiting Professor. He became a full-time clinician in October 2003 at the then Veterinary Teaching Hospital. This semester Dr. Saul assumed interim directorship of the SGU Small Animal Clinic.

As a community outreach service, he assists students in hosting public vaccination clinics. He assisted with the Campus Feral Cat Project - an ongoing initiative, that seeks to use spay and neuter procedures, as a means of controlling the feral cat population on the True Blue Campus.

Additionally, he is involved with large and small animal emergency and veterinary orthopedic surgery.  Dr. Saul is also the coordinator for SVM’s Shelter Medicine Project at the GSPCA.

Dr. Saul is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Microbiology/Veterinary Virology here at the St. George’s University.
