Veterinary Assistant Mrs. Andrea Frederick monitors “Sugella” and her puppies.
On Tuesday 19th September 2006, a unique case was admitted to the SGU Small Animal Clinic.
SGU Security Officers had reported seeing a disoriented female dog trying to make her way across a drain. Calls were made to the clinic and an SVM student who was visiting the clinic at that time offered to go to the upper campus to look for the dog. Eventually, the student found the dog with six puppies under a container near the Sugar Shack Restaurant.
Once admitted to the clinic, clinicians worked assiduously to treat the dog for dehydration which had led to her confused state.
The dog named “Sugella”, is recovering speedily along with her puppies.
Adoption or fostering of “Sugella” or any of her puppies can be arranged through the GSPCA.
