Post-doctoral Resident Program
The Psychological Services Center regularly has openings for Post-doctoral Residents in Psychology. The positions are currently filled. Applications will be accepted for the 2011-12 academic year beginning in January, 2011. The residents are expected to:
- Provide assessment and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families and groups, including students, staff and faculty and their significant others of St. George's University;
- Provide LD/ADHD assessment;
- Participate in liaison, consultation and training activities with various departments, faculty and others in the university community;
- Participate in psychological emergency, disaster and trauma response;
- Maintain client privacy and confidentiality and abide by other appropriate ethical standards;
- Participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of programs to enhance student development, foster multicultural learning and inform about a variety of health and social issues on campus;
- Participate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team;
- Participate in university activities such as Faculty Senate, departmental reviews, faculty meetings and special committee work when required;
- Participate in various departmental projects to assist with mental health needs of the Grenadian community; and
- Any other related duties assigned by the Director of the Psychological Services Center.
Annual salary will be 58,812 USD. Appointment is for one to two years, depending on length of supervision needed by successful applicant to complete psychologist licensure requirements. Ample vacation, allowing for free time and travel opportunities, will be available.
Qualifications: Psy.D./Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology with university counseling center experience. LD/ADHD evaluation experience and sensitivity to LGBTQQ and other multicultural issues are musts. Need for supervision by U.S. licensed psychologists to obtain own licensure as a psychologist is required.
