Library

In addition to the standard biomedical periodicals and literature, the library subscribes to Consumer Reports, Cosmopolitan, the Economist, ESPN, Foreign Affairs, Fortune, Health, National Geographic, New Yorker, People, Sports Illustrated, Sunday New York Times, Time, and US News and World Report.

The library also has a limited collection of novels and other leisure reading material. Students may visit the Grenada Public Library in St. George’s. For additional recreational reading, students are encouraged to bring paperbacks with them.

Textbooks

If you are a first-term School of Medicine or School of Veterinary Medicine student, your textbooks will be ordered for you and can be picked up during Orientation week. Do not buy these books prior to your arrival. Premedical, preveterinary medical and BSc students will purchase books on a cash basis at the University bookstore. Although the Founder s Library contains a large collection on reserve, consider bringing additional textbooks that cover material you will be studying during the term; for example, that old undergraduate biochemistry book that you never got around to reselling, and frankly never wanted to touch again, can be a helpful resource. The library has all recommended texts for the Basic Sciences courses. In addition, the University bookstore sells texts required or recommended by the faculty. Bring any supplementary texts, such as board review books, of your own.
