Living at SGU!

Grenada is a peaceful and very healthy island. It has no poisonous snakes, very few poisonous insects and very little disease. It is a land of peaceful waters (extreme surfers will be disappointed), mountains, rainforests and beautiful beaches. There are many water sports available with many places to scuba dive, snorkel, swim, hike and generally enjoy the countryside. In addition, there are many restaurants and resorts, concentrated in the areas near the campus.

Grenada is just south of the hurricane belt, but was hit with Ivan in September of 2004. The Island was hit hard, but is rebuilding more rapidly than anyone had expected. The campus is back to normal, except that the roofs are stronger and the campus looks even better with its new sets of rooftops and thriving trees. Although there’s no place on earth that is totally free of crime, Grenada is close: It was rated by AARP as one of the five safest places for US citizens to visit outside of the United States.
